is there a site you can download resolution chart on (such as the USAF one ? Or are those charts so big that you can't print them with a printer?

There's a PDF you can download from this page (http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/resolution.html). The charts themselves aren't that big, but you eed to print out several and arrange them on a board to make a full size board. There's lots of great information about lens testing at Norman Koren's page (http://www.normankoren.com/Tutorials/MTF5.html).
